Just get me a datalog and I can tune the fuel trim for you. Once the initial trim is done I will show you how to do it with a datalog, I'm not a fan of auto tune....

However there is an ve analyzer built into the datalog viewer that is amazing.

Man...car parts are on hold again. I got a new pony yesterday.

The pull string broke on my mulcher right after repairing it. The line was cheap....

It pi%%$ me off....so I bought a brand new riding mower. Smh

No more 3hrs to cut my lawn...that means my weekends will be a little better now that it only takes 45 mins.

Here's a pic of the car driven into a different spot..... I can't wait to really drive this thing.

Just a quick update. My car runs even better now. I'm getting the hang of the MS stuff ( baby steps ) LoL

This car is slowly turning into a real running vehicle.

I'm at the point where I'm starting to see light at the end of the tunnel. There's still a lot to do but it's almost there.

Another small win today...

The EFI harness I had laying around for years had the oil pressure and temp sensor connectors cut off by ...me...when I was really dumb.

The temp gauge on the dash hasn't worked in many many years...so I figured I'd tackle it today after work.

I replaced the temp sensor a few days ago because that thing was old and shot ta hell.

Well after doing applying ground and putting my phone on the dash to record what happened.... I found out the more recent " dumb " me put the oil pressure wire end on the temp sender. How do I know....because every time I clicked my Power Brobe on that damn wire the freaking oil gauge jumped.

Thanks to jrichker and a picture of the salt and pepper pin outs the issue is now fixed.

Now, I know how warm this motor is running without having to use a laptop. One more step closer to....

Dusty has now idled longer than he ever has. I let him idle for about 30 mins to make sure the cooling system was up to task. It worked perfectly.

But I found this....

I've been running and starting this car for a while and never had even a little leak from this fitting. A few turns of the brass fitting and no mo leaky leaky.

On3 got some more money from me, finally. I just ordered the turbo blanket, down pipe sleeve, and an oil feed restrictor.

Also, checked out some spark plug heat shielding and some cool titanium spark plug wire sleeving.

Came back home and fixed my non working clutch switch. Thought I needed a new one...just needed to be adjusted.

So far....I'm having a good day.

Went to the store with the wife...came back with cheap floor mats from Ollie's...and windshield wiper blades. 2.99 each for the 16 inch wipers and a whopping 8.88 for the front and rear floor mats...can't beat that !!!

The switches are for my line lock...and nitrous arm and purge. Probably won't use nitrous...but its there if I need it.

The interior is in decent shape...but the dust in this car is unbelievable. The interior has been out 3 times already and I'm still fighting dust. It has to be embedded in the carpet fibers. That's OK because that'll be changed shortly....along with my door to body weatherstrip.

There's only one switch in the picture. The green and red spots are indicator lights. That switch is to arm my line lock... The other switches can't be seen in any pictures. Lol

When I first got into doing a 130amp alternator upgrade there was no internet support ( that was about 15 years ago ). Back then we had to scrounge junkyards for things that would work.

I found this 130 amp alternator from a 1995 Taurus LE 3.8L in 2002.

I found out that the normal size pulley ( that came on the Taurus ) was too big and didn't spin fast enough at low rpms. So, I found an alternator pulley from a 1996 Escort.

This combo has served me well... But all good things come yo an end. This thing has been working flawlessly for 15yrs for me...22 years all together. This alternator owes me absolutely nothing.

This shows the importance of a 150amp fuse in the power line. The alternator internally shorted, melting the wire stud.

RIP loyal Ford alternator...you will be missed.

Alternator came in...it was bigger than my previous one. The power post was clocked to a different position as well.

On a regular mustang bracket it won't work but it fit perfect for me.

To clock an alternator just loosen the three 8mm bolts and spin the case.

With the bigger pulleyvit gave me a tighter belt and more room between the turbo and the alternator.

The tail light kit came in today. The black sticky crap that all over my tail lights is a PITA. I've got the hang of it though with the help of a flat head screw driver, razor blade, and PB Blaster.

I've actually been off for the last couple of days for medical reasons. Nothing serious but I've been home going stir crazy. The doctors say I need to be off until Friday...but my mind says I can go to work tomorrow. Everyone else says I should stay home and follow doctors orders. This crap sucks. I'm using sick time...but we get paid out if we don't use it. Argh !!!

It came from a guy helping my push my convertible. I had a fiberglass wing and trunk lid so I guess he chose to push on the cheapest part. Lol...I was mad as hell.

Got another surprise today...

It fit on the down pipe like a glove...

It also all fit back in the car like a glove...actually it took a little bit of twistingand turning to get it in there. Nothing dramatic though.

And...I still can reach the number 4 plug without pulling anything.

Now, just the plug boot and wire heat shields...and tags before tuning.

The bumper still needs to get finished...but I'm on cloud 9 today. Feels like old times.

Thats it for tonight....rain for the next three days.

I'm so glad I go to work tomorrow. I really do enjoy my job. Can't be a mechanic forever but for now...its pretty good.

I need to order another sleeve and a turbo blanket before on3 changes designs or gets bought out. I need to buy another hot side as well. Eventually, no matter what, these pipes will rust and crack.

Glad I didn't take the car to the event at the track. Its running decent enough but I still have so many " T's " to cross.

I put a heat shield on the drivers side rack boot. Its a salvaged heat wrap that comes factory on the old Malibu rack and pinions. Conveniently, it has stainless snaps on it to make installation easier.

While I was under there I realized I have another issue.

My sway bar is laying on my oil pan. I've got 3 options...I can raise the motor with spacers at the motor mount brackets, lower the sway bar with spacers at the sway bar mount brackets, or I could shorten the spacers between my sway bar end links.

I've got to think about this...need alcohol.

When raised the sway bar isn't touching the oil pan at all. So...in theory if I shorten the end link spacers the sway bar should move off the pan. There's not a lot of room between the sway bar and the crossover pipe....raising the engine may cause issues with the intake pipe and the hood...only a little bit of clearance left.

Glad the little bit of driving I've done didn't ruin my pan.

Also, I found my power steering return line literally lays on the crossover pipe....don't know how in the hell I missed that.
