In my 05 GT i have the shaker 500 or had anyways. I got my local audio shop to install a double DIN dvd player for me and it all went good except they said that they couldnt hook up the subs in the doors for some reason. i did a search through the forums but didnt find anything about this particular problem. Has anyone come across this yet? and what did they do i could put an aftermarket amp in there but if there is a way to hook up the stock amp to my dvd player that would be alot easier and would best fit my needs out of the system.

absolutely, my very first thread was for this exact same reason, i had a shaker 1000 and removed it and installed an alpine w/ ipod connection. im assuming they used the wiring harness and aftermarket kit. all you need is a 3$ voltage regulator from radio shack. basically, the factory units puts out about 5v and aftermarket units put out 12. those amps expect the 5v if not they "pop" when you turn the car on and off. the voltage regulator fixes the "pop".

I just ran new amps and tapped in the Shaker sub amps in the left upper kick panel.Sound a lot better with more power and a different crossover point too.
