Today I got my car dynoed at JBA racing in San Diego. I am a little skeptical about the numbers, they seem a little high.
Temp-60.5
RWHP-291.4 at 5965 RPM, Air/Fuel 11.6
TQ-299 at 4474 RPM

The only mods I have are flowmaster mufflers that are designed for the previous gen. mustangs and steeda udp. I told them that I thought 05-08 Mustangs are putting 255-265 RWP. He told me that is about right.

Yeah. That's extremely high, I would say. The mufflers don't add any performance. The UDP's are approx 6. Either way, you now have a baseline so when you add more mods, you can go back to the same dyno and see what you've gained. That's the important part.

Are you sure they didnt throw a tune it when u werent looking??:D
I dealt with JBA back in late 90's, and they were always pretty stand-up and honest..They did alot of work to my 90 GT, and I couldnt have been happier, I dont think they have anything to gain by blowin up numbers on ur car..Maybe you have one of those factory freaks..

They do seem like a good group of guys. I think inflating the numbers would be counter productive. If those number are indeed accurate, I am not going to get a cai/tune. Is it possible the previous owner put a tune on the car? I kind of doubt it, the car has been to ford for a 15K checkup.

Not sure if it's reading high. Right before me a 05 Mustang with a intake and no tune pulled 263 hp. I can't remember if he was auto or manual. A 07 or 08 CTS-V pulled 338, which seems about right. They have 400 at the flywheel.

Check this out. I jumped right on this thread. My car was tuned on a Dyno Dynamics set up and then I took it to a Dynojet just to see the numbers on the industry standard dyno.

Brace yourselves! Dyno Dynamics RWHP:534.3 RWTQ:502

Dynojet SAE corrected: RWHP:467.5 RWTQ:453.9

OK, that's about 14% high on the HP figures and about 10.5% high on the torque figures. Everybody knows what the rwhp commonly is on a car equipped with full exhaust and a Whipple HO kit. Its anywhere between 460-475 rwhp give or take a bit. I'm gonna say that from what I see here a Dyno Dynamics system seems to show BHP more than rwhp even though the print out clearly states rwhp.

id three dyno pulls today. They were free. It was a promotion for a new dynotuning shop that is getting ready to open here in San Diego.

1st pull 280.29 hp 287.71 tq
2nd pull 275.48 hp, 281.91 tq
3rd pull 277.79 hp, 285.16 tq

Mostly mustangs there getting dynoned. A cobra dynoed at 505 hp. Not sure of the TQ.

The only thing I know about dyno dynamics is my car was tuned on a brand new set up and it was wayyyyy off. Sae corrected Dynojet numbers are consistant and can't be fudged at all. Dynojets are the industry standard.
