Guys.....just one question....I have the below mods, with a sct chip that was supposedly burned for all the mods I have. I am having slight drivability issues. Cold start problems, where the car will want to surge then die for like a minute, then it will be fine. The car will stall out every once in a while....I just want a rock solid drivability car. I do not want a tweecer because I am very afraid of them(from listening to you guys with all those funny words...LOL). Taking money out of it......is dyno tuning worth it? I have no frickin idea what my a/f ratio is, or anything else. Will a dyno tune fix or remedy this......any help would be appreciated.

are you sure the chip is in,and definately have it dyno tuned to get the most out of the car but to also have proper a/f ratio good luck.

Yeah, I would check to make sure that the chip is working. Run computer test with a code scanner, if the code scanner reads codes then you know the chip isn't in.

I've heard nothing but good things about the SCT chips for h/c/i 5 Liters. My JMS chip I got for my car gave near stock driveability.

Did you check your fuel pressure and make sure that it was set at 39 psi, vacuum off, or whatever the chip recomends? Sounds like an open loop problem.

Dynoing is worth it if you don't want to do your own tuning and if you really want to confirm that your chip is doing its job or not. If you car is stalling and dies then the chip sound like it needs to be redone or it became disconnected somehow. Worse yet, the chip may be tuned incorrectly.

Try disconecting the chip and reseating it. Better yet see how your car runs without it. You can make the determination if the chip is controlling anything or not. Good luck.

I always thought that mail order custom chips are ball park at best, since conditions vary greatly from car to car and climate to climate.

I didn't dyno tune I just made some runs. I think it was worth it. I now know my A/F ratio, power and TQ output and a good timing setting. At 14deg my car does not ping and I gained 12rwhp from 10deg. An actual dyno tune is worth it with any mods because of how our computers suck from the factory.
