hey hot331.. just outta curiousity do you know how much degrees of timing your running?

I believe I'm running 25 degrees.. he said he was going to run it pretty aggressive and built me another tune with 2 degrees less timing incase it pings in the summer.

Well actually i have no idea . I know Tim was increasing the timing until it got a little detenation, then he backed off 2*s (it was about 90+*s out BTW..so no worries of detination in the heat. ) . But ill PM him and see if he knows...im curious now anyways . Im also going to ask him if there is any power left on the table since I didnt retune after the LTs....people seem to think there are a few more HP left in it because of that.

Well PMd him about that and some other stuff...and its set at "Max Timing" . So I still dont know what its at. But he said there isnt really anything left in the car, A/F and Timing are maxed so basically its at its peak. COME ON HPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once I go 300+ I can stop modding this car and buy the supercharger and tranny for the 66.

hey 331, why don't you just retard the cams a few degrees to get back on top. just a couple.

Yea your right, a 2-3* retard would do it up top...but i would have to buy adjustable cam gears, tear the front of the motor down, and sacrifice lowend torque . VERY Good idea though as the car would probably flat line to 6200-6300 with no drop off. Thanks
If the HPS doesnt get me there, I may just have to do that . (and ill be buying an aluminum DS...+ I have RP in the tranny. Im thinking it may go closer to 308 after all that and the P&P short runner intake)

so pulling out some degrees in cams can add a few hp? i need about 25 hp to reach 300 to the wheels in an auto, i still need underdrive pullies, bigger tb/ported plenum. but i dont think i will quit be there with those added on, but i would like to be able to afford the hps hard ballr intake, or edelbrok which ever one is cheaper/best gains.

Well I got mine tuned today. It runs much better. I was hoping for a little more power but I guess its not that bad for a 140k motor.
Mods are
PI heads, Comp 274 cams, underdrive pulleys, offroad h-pipe, everything else is stock.

That's what I was thinking. Hopefully LT's, plenum, TB, and a cold air kit should open it up.
