Well I took the car to the dyno today and I am fairly pleased with the results….

The only change the tuner made was he put in more timing, I had it at 36 and he took it up to 40 (running 93 mixed with 100 octane which is the norm for me, we have 100 octane at the pumps in my town). The race demon was fine right out of the box as far as air fuel ratio so nothing needed there.

It made 368 HP and 397 ft lbs of tq. He said the results are a little conservative as he could tell from the very flat line on the graph that my race converter is loose. He also said his dyno is calibrated for a 3800lb car and I only weigh 3000 to 3200 (not sure if that means anything, he didn't elaborate on that) He made some calculations and he said taking into consideration the C4 trans, and that my converter seems to be pretty loose he estimated that I have 475HP at the flywheel. I always thought I had between 475 and 500 FWHP so I guess I am happy.

With that done I have an appointment with the fabricator next week to look at getting my custom cage re-installed, installing my new Kirkey low back vintage road race seats (I have them and they are sweet and pretty darn comfy for being an 11 lb piece of aluminum) and installing my 5 point harnesses. I hope he can get me in in the next couple of weeks so I can make a pass in the car.

Most of you guys know my previous best run was an 11.28 @ 119MPH before the cam, stall and carb change was done when we freshened the motor. So I am hoping that the stars will align and I'll get that 10.99 pass out of the car NA yet this season, it feels so much stronger than before...... wish me luck.

Wow, nice numbers. What suspension rates, shocks, slicks etc are you running to get such times??? I had my Mustang to the track last week and it was like ice skating.

aluminum block

Nice #s. I'd be happy with that too. If this doesn't get you to 10.99 I bet that Dart aluminum block would!

Those are nice numbers!!
A converter will mess with the dyno numbers. The dyno is a great tuning aid but we all know the dragstrip is the TRUE test of the engine/suspension/driver.
I can't wait to see your times with the new mods.

with 10 psi and 349ci you sound like your ready with a set of slicks. I'll get my 10 NA.... I have no doubt about it...

We are going thru the exact same thing with 12sec67's. His starts at 5500 and hits really hard at 6500 like a rev limiter. Think we may have figured it out, we'll see.
Good luck washmo. Glad to see you traded in the sophisticated power for brute force.

Well dont hold back!!!!What do you think it is. Mine will only pull in the lower rpms, then it wont rev to redline, so i have to shortshift.I really need to get it on a dyno and just pay ST Motorsports to figure it out

Nice numbers... how's the curve look? Could you post the graph? Also, good luck at the track, I'm sure 10's are just a matter of hitting the track.

I'll scan it at work tomorrow and put it up so you guys can give me some feedback since this is the first time I have ever done this... The only way I have ever tuned is by reading plugs and making passes....

Nice numbers. Are you going to run it at Gateway? I live in St. Louis and would love to watch it run. I've been out there a few times this year and actually ran my 69 Cougar for the first time (13.5 with no traction.....but it is setup for autocross....can't have both). I love seeing the vintage street cars run.

Yes I will be running at Gateway as soon as I get all my safety gear back up to spec. I'm meeting with the fabricator this week and then I will know when he can get me in to get my cage done etc... I travel a few times a month with my job so I have about two weeks at home right now before I have to head back out on a few trips for a couple weeks.
