Dyno'd car today....

sldghmr - you might have a shot at the 12s if you can get those mph up a little. take a look at your shift points to see if your shifting in the sweet spot.

This is what I'm hoping for also. Been trying to figure how to raise my mph without changing anything else. Going to play w/the fuel pressure (just a pound or two) and also the timing. When I ran the 13.377 timing had not been optimized. The dyno #'s I posted are with the optimized timing. I figure get the car cooled down properly (ice intake, throttle body, and radiator), with both wheels pulling (need to fix pinion seal/rebuild rear) on a hooked track and I'm there. I'd really like to do this w/a stock upper air track (barring the K&N of course). What should I be shifting at?

Friends got a 347 with stock ported heads, trickflow streetheat intake, f cam, and its nothing. We havent raced yet but I think I could take him.
Seems like it should run like stink! If you can take him (w/stock gears!!!) I think something might be wrong w/his setup. I might be wrong but I'd think he should kill you.

I put your torque curve in a spreadsheet I use to evaluate shift points. Generally I try to shift at a point that puts me at my peak torque point where acceleration to peak HP and beyond is quickest. Looks to me like these are good points to me (experiment with them from this point):

1-2 = 6,000 rpm
2-3 = 5,600 rpm
3-4 = 4,800 rpm

That is a slick looking program you got there. I'll definitly try those points. I did notice a big change when I started shifting at 6000 (all shifts) from 5000. Now how am I going to remember those value drops in a middle of a race? 6K, then 5.6K, then 4.8K? Is that right? Does some make a progressive shift light?
