After throwing the dreaded P0190 code at the track last Saturday, I really wanted to get on the Dyno and check the A/F. Good thing I did! As you can tell by the dynograph, the Focus pump is pegged right around 5700 rpm, and it starts getting lean :notnice: So, I will be having a KB 20 amp BAP installed soon to correct that problem. Also have some belt slip (time for an 8-rib kit? :D ), but still put down some nice numbers :nice:

Mods are: Vortech SQ Mongoose kit @ 10psi, non-IC'd, Bassani Catted X, and 3.73s. The car made 370/370 with the Mongoose kit and 3.73s, only mod Ive done since owning the car is the Bassani X.

393.66 HP / 377.47 FT/LBS (SAE = 386/370)

I want to thank Joe, John and all the crew @ Dynospeed Racing in Memphis for squeezing me in today, as it was my only day off all F'n year. Great shop, highly recommended. They will be installing my BAP later this year.

nice numbers man. what ever happen to your old GT? why sell it for the bullit? And im even more surprised you modded the bullit. (since it is a "collector" style car). Nice numbers though :nice:
i still have the GT, for now. I thought we've been over this already? :D

Here's my shortened soap box explanation on modding a bullitt:

Its more fun to drive a car than let it sit in a garage :nice:

Nice numbers, love the wheels...sigh, someday. What are the future plans for the bullitt??
Everything :) Built motor, heads & cams, T-56, built 8.8.......then either a T-trim or KB.

Of course, the motor is way down the road, after I graduate. For now, I'll have to live with 393 :(

I think you did tell me that you still had the old GT helty...but it was in the MIDDLE of one of your many 30 page threads...so i was to lazy to thumb through a few pages of thread to find out your answer when i asked that question.

So instead, here I am a few months later, just asking you again. But now i know :)

PS: I have a pretty bad memory, i may ask you again in the future. hahahah

damn helty! 393! F'in sick man. I love having 350! How did you know you were leaning out? Just the code or did you feel it when you got on it? Either way, good call on the dyno!

My concern right now isn't with the tune or a/f, but with my tranny. I think it's starting to go! Eek!

throwing the code scared me ****less. I didnt hear any ping at all, just the code. I wanted to have everything checked out asap. Its really cool how the tuners can datalog and show you everythng thats going on with your car at any given rpm. The pump is actually at max duty cycle around 4500, or 4800 rpms and supplies enough fuel up until 5700. Then its.....uh-oh :(

It will be ok to drive around until I do the BAP, as long as I dont run it high into the rpm range (which I wont, Im done racing this year). Im also pretty impressed with the gains from the X-pipe :nice:

So my question is why would Tim have us use focus pumps for this kit if we are pegging the damn thing? Is it only in your case or would that be for all of us using this pump? I mean, I'm not too worried as 5,800 is redline for us 2Vs and I stop making power around 5,500 so that's normally where I shift (as my raptor helps :nice: ). So in reality, I'm never anywhere near 5,700+ and if I am, it's only for a split second.

Also, you have stock headers with just the X? What kinda gains did you see? If I'm not mistaken you were at 370 and now are at 383? So a 13rwhp for just a Bassani O/R-X? Hmmm...I'd love to do a deep, throaty full exhaust setup next year but I'm honestly scared to put more HP into the car as I need it to be reliable. :p

Anywho, if I need help picking out my exhaust, I know where to go! HELTY FTW! :hail2:

Focus pumps don't always flow what they are supposed to - same thing with all pumps, it's slightly different for each individual unit. 6100 is redline in my mongoose kit...and I make power up past 6000 with stock cams/heads.... :flag:

Don't shift so low, shift higher and you'll drop back in higher in the power band. With the 3.27's I have in there now, I would have to rev to 6700 to hit the powerband i would with the 3.55's I used to have haha - installing 3.73's in a week or so though... :nice:
