I'm swapping the rearends, right now i have the 8.8 in the donor all unbolted but i cant figure out how to disconnect the ebrake cables. I dont want to cut them because i need them on my car. Off topic i bought megabite jr lowers, double adjustable megabite uppers, 50/50 shocks to put in w/ the rear but i havent gotten springs yet any ideas.

i guess you did not search these forums because maybe on thursday i had the same question. it is easier if you take the hole brake apart to get to them. get a flathead screwdrive and push in 3 little tabs on the cable where it comes through the back brake plate.but take your time because if you move the cable when you have at least 1 tab pushed through they may pop back out.so just push the 3 down and pull out.

I'm gonna mess with it tomorow, today i got everything unbolted on the 89 (donor car) and tomorow i will undo the cables drop the 7.5 in my 93 and wait for the parts to get here to put the 8.8 in it. This auto 4cyl to 5spd V8 swap is alot more work then i expected.

If you have trouble you can use a small hose clamp to compress the tangs or I have heard the end of a 1/2" or so closed wrench works also.
