i had the recall done a while back, but it never felt right. the handle was loose (i could shake it side to side) and there felt like there was too much slack. i took it back to the dealer, and they said all was good. i get into the car the other day and now the e-brake light does not shut off. there seems to be even more slack on the handle. any ideas? i dont want to bring it to the dealership for something easy that will take them 2 days to do. thanks for the help.

I would bring it back to the dealer and demand they fix it, I had a 2000 with the same recall ( I believe it was the parking break would fail when engaged on an incline.) If the tech gives you a load of crap talk to the service manager. This repair took less than 2hours for my dealer to do in my '00 sounds like they just botched the install.

Its most likely your brake fluid. After i had my hand brake fixed the light came on. I took it back to the dealer and they said it was fine. As for the light they were like, "O you were low on fluid." They put some in and it went off. I have a 96 GT by the way.
