I did a 2-person job by me doing pliers to compress the spring and my buddy usning pliers tog et the cable in place. You can probably do it with one person if you have to though...

Get the cable in place?

I just grab the cable with some vice grips and put it in place, then tried to put the spring on afterwards. the cable didnt affect the movement of the bracket the spring goes in.

get the spring on first then use vise grips or pliers to pull cable onto where it goes.

Wait i tried to put it on with the cable out.

It has no affect on the bracket what so ever. It doesn't matter if the cable is in the bracket or not.
