Gonna skimp and stick with an E-cam now that you know you’re replacing it, or are you going to spend a little extra cabbage on a proper dual pattern off the shelf, or custom grind. They’re worth their weight in gold in drivability and over all torque and horsepower.

dunno yet... wanna talk with the guy who builds the motor in the racecar and a few of the guys who race for JPC and see what they say will work good for the ported E7's 1.7 rockers and assloads of nitrous...

you know this started with me replacing the thermostat and valve over gaskets...

Well, let’s put it this way. If you're like the rest of us, you're going to eventually get tired of the power capability of the stock top end (even with ported pieces) and start looking into upgrading to a set of aluminum heads and high flow intake. It really isn't going to matter a whole lot what you run for a top end when the bottle is on, but if this is mainly a street car, I could imagine that 95% of the time, you're not going to be feeding it the giggle gas.

And if that's the case and you do decide you want to swap out the ported E7TE's for something a little more "capable", you only have to get into the top end of the engine and leave the short block alone.

So I would probably install the cam with the greatest capability and drivability that will work best with your current and future potential selection of parts....and that's most likely not going to be an E-Cam. Putting the right bump stick in now, will save you from having to get into the short block again later.

Just food for though.

Yea I know once I'm tired of this motor I'm going 400+ inches with 2 kits or a ysi. Been looking a world windsor jr heads and a typhoon intake to help keep costs down on this budget build...if I got the money left over in the budget I'd love to get a custom rich groh cam but I'm sure that's gunna put a dent in the budget.

The AFM B-21 or do you mean B303? The reason I asked is I noticed your other post where you were asking about the B-21.

If you want to stick to a ford cam....Go with the X or Z, I've had good results with both. As gearbager 101 said you can't beat a good custom grind. That's what I have in my fastest car, custom grind crower.... Just my opinion
