My Cobra is stock well, with the exception of my CAI it is. Anyway, my question is this I've been going to the local track and I want to take my car out for a couple of runs. What kind of times should I expect? My car has only 33000 on the speedo. Also without getting to wild what would be some good basic mods for turning a decent time.
Thanks,

B

An 01 cobra in stock trim already lights up the score board with a decent time.

I would guess anywhere from 13.5 to 13.9 from what I've seen at the track.

By far the cheapest way to lower ETs would be NOS. One dude had a venom kit he said he bought online for about $500 bucks and installed it himself. He had a 01 GT with 4.10 gears and a 75 shot and was turning mid 13s.

But for starters a set of 4.10 gears will net you lower ETs. You already have a cold air kit. Other basics stuff would be pulleys, full exhaust, and then a custom chip tune.

With my mods i went 13.2 on street tires and then after the tune and a set of m/t drags i went 12.9@111mph. These are the only runs the car has ever made so i could do better or worse!

dam, well my 99 with a good amount of mods including 410s, could only go 14.1 and I make 285 rwhp. It is a lot harder then you think hooking up off the line. I had bfg kdw 275 width treads. (oh my 60' was 2.17 and my mph was just under 100)
good luck!

lol. Welcome to the club man. I had 308 rwhp when I took my 01 cobra coupe down to the track for the first time. This was my slip.

R/T 1.133
60' 2.220
330 6.111
1/8 9.219
MPH 79.77
1000 11.840
1/4 14.086
MPH 95.19

There was another guy at the track with a 99 cobra convert that ran a 14.0x something. It takes more than just a lot of horse power to run low ETs. I'm trying to get like cobra2798. Those are some good numbers. Keep us posted next time you go to the track. I'd like to know your improvements.

You guys have 300+ rwhp and are running slower times than the new Gts? What gives? It is not that hard to get the irs to bite.

like it was stated above, hp does not determine your et...many, many other things do as well.
and not all gts run in the 13's.

I bet my street tires, even being a 295, would just roast, and kill my times. never had a chance to run it yet. the claims of 13.9 at 103, even on my body style totally stock, had to be one heck of a racer. I think that is what ford claimed atleast.
