A friend of mine told me this will wake up my 5.0. My car is all stock besides the full exhaust. Will this cam work with a stock engine? What will I need to change? Which RR's to get? Or should I get a cam after Intake and heads?

dont bother at all your stock heads and intake manifold just cant take advantage of an aftermarket cam, and the E cam(or any alphabet cam for that matter) is just not that great anymore...they were the hot cams back in the day but there are better choices now...its not worth your money ESPECIALLY on a stock motor...

if they are amazingly cheap then sure...but i dont think one should skimp on the cam....i dont feel a cam is worth it untill the heads and intake are changed....because the cam is the key piece to the combo...without aftermarket heads and intake you will not see the true gain of a cam period....

well....hmmm.....i kinda sorta regret the e303 but i dont. i love the lope and it was an "improvement" over the stock cam but ive never had anything but a stock mustang cam before. if i were to stick another one in there that is "better" then id be able to say do this or dont do this. i have had idle problems with the e303. i personally wouldnt recommend to anyone, especially someone that has an auto (dies out all the time). unless you have a tuner that can get rid of the cam problems then id search for a new (more "advanced") cam that doesnt screw with your idle as much. im planning on a new cam sometime when i redo my into to a street heat in the next 2-3 months so ill let you know how different it is but on a stock car........save yourself trouble and dont do it.

I have the E-cam and I do not have any problems. I love the lope and who cares about your stock heads. The heads can always be upgraded in the future. At least the cam part is done. You must get the IAC spacer plate for the cam to work on your setup. The IAC spacer is what keeps me from having the idle issues everyone talks about. I tried it with it on and then off, it just wont run right with it off. it is a $20.00 investment, and your dealer can give you the part. Do a search for the part number. I have posted it before. You want to turn heads on the street with the sound of your car? Then get this cam and you will.

i disagree...its just not worth the time or effort...im assuming he wont be doing the work by himself so why pay for the cam, and have someone install it and get a minimal gain....an edelbrock Intake manifold is a direct bolt on, and will give the same amount of power....or underdrive pulleys....the cam is not worth it at this time....the cam is the crowning piece of your setup and should be chosen carefully....not just so you can have a lopey idle and sound cool....please...the cam should be done IMO as i said earlier in conjunction with a solid Intake/Heads combo...the GT cam is NOT the problem with our cars...its the heads, the Intake manifold, and the gearing....
