LOL this question has been asked too many times... The answer is NO. You will actually loose torque and your stock heads won't flow enough in the upper rpms to benefit with an e-303. The stock cam will work better than an e-cam.

damn, you've likely already lost power with your current combo. a 70mm throttle body is way too big for what you're running. FYI, i'm running a gt40 intake, and gt40p heads, and a 70 is too big for that application.

you're on the right road with all your intake and exhaust mods, match that 70mm up with a set of alum heads and a cam. If not, lose the 70mm throttle body for a stocker.

I ran an RPM intake with 70mm TB on my stock motor..ran just as well as it did with a 65mm, you'll be fine with that. Guys will run the Ecam with stock heads, there is a power gain even with the E7 heads, however the #'s won't really justify the work to install the cam. Aftermarket heads allow the cam to shine and work in an enviorment it was designed for.

you can run stock injectors up until you hit like 280 rwhp lol you need aluminum heads, aftmrkt intake, (or ported) and that cam before u make anywhere close to needing 24#ers - it may be holding u back also, seems like your heads are totaly bottlenecking ur power, i bet u've bogged urself down and if u throw a set of heads on there, ur entire system of perf parts will actually be working, and then u'll feel a HUUUUGGGE difference -

good call, missed those. 19#'s are good enough till 300ish. with your current configuration, you're making 250, tops.

maybe even a little bit less- the parts though would start working together instead of against eachother when he puts on higher flowing heads- suggested edelbrocks or the two debated ones TFS TW's or AFR 165 or 185's

well since i was going to post up a similar question. i guess i will just do it here since we are on the subject. i was going to put an e-303 with 1.7 rr on some stock heads. should i just leave the stock cam with the 1.7 rr. i want to keep the stock head for now since there in such good shape. what combo do you guys recomend if its going carb?

actually, stock cam with a 1.7rr ain't such a bad combo. I've heard of people making good power and drivability with that setup

Keep the stock cam. The e cam with 1.7 will probably net less power with the stock heads.

For cost VS performance don't overlook the iron GT40 heads either...if it's a good running strong package your looking for I'm a huge fan of Thumper heads and when combined with a ford alpha cam you can for WELL under 1000 put togther a damn fine engine package capable of 12 second runs with suspension and tires.

good choice, that w/ a fresh rebuild should net u the power n reliability you're looking for! How many miles on the motor? May not need rebuild - but usually if u are going as far as tearin heads off, it's a good idea to replace at least all the lifters, and as many gaskets as you can get to !! Good luck man!
