E6 heads

Yes I know the heads on 86 GT's suck and that the only aftermarket option is the Trickflow heads. Since they're pretty expensive though is there anything to be had by porting or gasket matching the stock E6 heads? 5hp? 10hp? Do you think the car would need to be switched to MAF for this? It would be combined with an 87+ upper intake and tb.

Every head will respond to porting and polishing and a good valve job...gasket matching is not worth the time to do it...

You will be fine even with extensive porting with the SD set-up, no need for MAF yet
