Can anyone tell me what the main differences in the E6 castings on the 86 mustangs compared to E7 castings on the 87-93 mustangs are. Could you use an E6 head on a 87-93 mustang? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I can't reall describe the physical differences....but E6's are pieces of crap.

The CC chamber is much different, the E7s are much better.

E6's have a heart shaped chamber that shrouds the valves, restricting breathing.

They can be used but don't make as much power as E7's typically. With an intake , 70mm TB , 75mm Mass Air conversion,pullies & a full exhuast. Mine stang made a whopping 197RWHP

Just a quick question for anyone who happens to run across this, as it pertains to E6 heads as well. Could E7 heads be installed on a 1986 motor without piston to valve clearance problems (1986 pistons are flat-top, not fly cut like the 87+). Thanks!

Yes, the '86 had a different (smaller) cam, I think

There is a reason they were only used for one year on the Mustang. Junk.
