Which set of heads is better I recently had to switch from a 1990 block with E7TE heads to a 1986 Block With E6SE heads and is already broken in.
I have heard two diffrent storys on these engines one is that the E7TE's flow better and make more power. If this is true how much more power?
I have also heard the 1986 block was better because it had domed pistons or something and it makes better power that a newer block.
Just though i would ask thanks guys.:SNSign:

the e7 heads are better because you can do more with them and they do flow better from the factory. the 86 5.0 had flat top pistons which is good for power but you cant put a big cam in it because of p/v issues

You are not smart if you just slap a cam in without checking piston to valve clearance.
Especially with a e6 block. The e7 heads are worth 25hp over the e6 heads.

there is a REAL good chance that cam will hit, you better check your clearances.

ALSO, the e7 heads do have a significant power advantage over the e6's, but will only bolt on 50% of the time, the other half they hit the pistons, and you're gauranteed to hit with that e cam.
