now i heard that some poeple have this same problem when they install the GT-40 upper and lower, but I have never seen or heard anything like this... After my install I started the car up and within 5 mins the car makes this ear piercing noise that u cant even stand to put your head under the hood to look for it. It seems to run ok, and my VAC guage reads normal. The noise only appears at idle. When i hit the gas it goes away and everything is fine, except- It overheats in about 30 mins of run time. Strange wouldnt u say? I thought of vac leak causing it to run lean which is why it over heats, but that doesnt make sense because vac guage reads fine. 15-18 at idle. Anyone have any suggestions on what i should try? I was thinking maybe fuel pressure was down because i put new injectors in with new computer and MA, but didnt change the FPR do u think thats it?

Sounds like it could just be coincidence, and not from an intake install. I know my tensioner started making a really annoying squeel on my old Stang. Now, the over heating may be from something with the intake install. But I've never had that problem, so I'm not sure. What else have you done to your car recently?

I don't know if its the same thing, but when I took my car out of the garage this spring and started driving it around again, there was also a VERY loud high pitched noise. It also came only at idle. Don't know if its a smart thing to do, but i just dripped some motor oil on the belt since thats what i figured it was, and it went away instantly. It came back once more and I did the same thing. Haven't heard it in about 3 weeks now. Just tossing out a possibility.

na guys its definitly not the belt, it comes from right around the throttle body/upper plenum and its not really a whistle its just really high pitched, i dunno more like a dog whistle than a train whistle if u know what i mean.

ITS NOT THE BELT

I said it before, I'll say it again, ITS NOT THE BELT. Its not a screech or a whistle, its just a real high pitch noise like the kind of noise you hear when an M80 goes off 2 feet from your ear and its ringing

i just put a gt40 upper and lower on mine also it does the exact same thing. did you put a bigger tb on also cause i put on the bbk 70mm and i think its the sound of the air goin around the butterfly in the tb cause if you just barely touch the throttle it will go away. it is pretty annoying but it sounds like a supercharger so its all good. let me know if this is what it could be though. i also realized that my tb blade doesnt have a hole drilled in it and every other one i see has a small hole drilled in the blade. could this be why it whistles?

That's what I was about to suggest, the butterfly making a nice wistle.
