just got a 06 GT. looking for some easy bolt ons, nothing major still need a every day driver. need x pipe suggestions w/ cats, still need to pass emmisions, maybe some pulleys. what do you think????????

A cold air kit with a 93 octane tune will make a huge difference in the throttle response as well as add close to 30 rear wheel horsepower. Pulleys I've heard make a good difference too.

For catted X-pipes, Pypes makes one with cats that is priced very reasonable, but I do not know if it has any fitment issues or anything. Bassani makes one that is supposed bo be really good, but is close to $400. I've used their stuff on other cars in the apst and had no problems.

I would do UD Pullies... good for 10hp anf tq and will give you better gas mileage without needing a tune... But the best mod is the intake and tuner... For $554 you can get a JLT Intake and SCT Xcal tuner and tunes from Brenspeed. Then I would go with a good set of mufflers to give you a better look and sound...

I recommend the Bassani x pipe. You can get one from Brenspeed for like 380 and it comes with cats and off road option in case you ever wanted to switch to off road pipe. It's great quality and easy install with not a single fitment issue. And of coarse a cold air kit with a tune, I got JLT/SCT X3 combo from Evolution Performance and love it.

X pipe with a Straight Thru type muffler (Bassani, borla, frpp, pypes, slp, etc...) will sound good. I have Hooker x w/ bassani race ab and it sounds awesome. An X pipe with a Chambered muffler (flowmaster and the like) will sound really raspy. Get an H pipe with a chambered, X with a straight thru. If you cant decide, just get an H and be done with it. It's the easiest and most fool-proof way to do exhaust.

While we're on the topic of exhaust set-ups. I started with SLP LMs aka muffler deletes. I loved them but eventually they were just loud without any tone. So I decided to buy a pair of Magnaflow Magnapacks and have them installed as a mid muffler system. They sound great with the factory mid pipe, very deep and pretty loud still. I'm probably going to go with a O/R X pipe to pick up a few rwhp. Unless you're getting rid of cats, headers etc, all of the axleback exhaust kits will not really add any hp, it's purely for the sound and the appearance.

I've put most of the 51K+ miles on my car since new in Aug 06 with the performance mods in my sig and I've never had a problem with it being my daily driver

MAgnaflow is a little pricey but I am really happy w/ my O/R xpipe and magnapack cat-backs...Fit and finish is superb IMO..But ur lookin at over $1,000 for Magnaflow X-pipe w/cats and Magnapack/Magnaflow exaust full system..

i'm running a magnaflow xpack side exhaust kit, sounds good, and I get questions every where I go. Also running the TI CIA with a brenspeed tune. Still rocking the 87 tune and I love it. I'll try the 93 tune sooner or later..

Friend of mine has the Magnaflow magnapacks as an AB. Before he went turbo, he had the Hooker LT's and X pipe that I have on my car (bought them from him) and it was one of the best sounding exhaust set ups that I have ever heard. Definitely a good choice

I myself am thinking about going with an SLP Catted X-pipe. The price is usually higher then the other above mentioned units but it is modular so in the future if you can swing the cash for longtube headers (which yield the most power header wise) you don't have to buy a new midpipe saving you money in the long run. All you do is unbolt the downpipe and hook up the longtubes to it
