My car has a bassani cat'd x-pipe and I'm getting a CEL. It worked for years without one. One of the cats broke inside and started rattling - it sounded like death. Anyways, I had it confirmed that it was the cat and while I was waiting to decide what I should do about it, the sound stopped. I haven't heard it in probably a year. I guess it welded itself back together.

Later I get a code for left bank out of range or something. Sorry I don't remember the exact code or phrase but it's the co2 sensors on the x pipe. I would assume it's because of the previous trouble with one of the cats but I also know it could actually be the sensor.

My question is, aren't there kits to put between your sensor and the plug which makes them read correctly? I don't see any on my car so where can I get them, what are they called, and how much are they? And do these tricks effect how the car runs or how the ECU controls things?

Thanks.

I believe you are talking about the MIL eliminators. They have two different kinds you can buy. The plug and play ones are the easiest to install but a bit more money. They also haves ones where you slice them in yourself. I have had the plug and play ones for about 4-5 years and no problems with them at all.
