So after thinking I didn't want to pay the close to 5 grand for a Procharger or KB, I was wondering if anybody on here bought the kit from TorkTech to put the stock Cobra blower on our cars. I'm sure that it won't be a huge boost but better than some of the other stuff I could do for similar price (Cams come to mind and nitrous would be similar power numbers I would think). What type of numbers do these produce on the 2v's and cost wise? I have seen Cobra blowers for 500 which is a better solution than the other setups. I'm not looking for huge power but this should get the lil 2v near 350 right?

It'll be enough of a difference to put a huge grin on your face. I think most people feel otherwise but I think you'll be happy with the results. Even if you get only 5-8 lbs of boost that's still enough to beat a N/A 2V car with bolt ons and you'll probably at least hang with a Terminator.

i've done some research on this.
it's not worth the it, for less money i can get a used complete vortech kit, don't get me wrong i'd LOVE to be able to put an m112 on my 2V, IF the tork tec kit was lats say! around $500-$1000, if ur set on the eaten. you may be better off just picking up a complete, 03-04 cobra engine swap. i know if i every find a good deal on one. i'll do it,

With a good tune and 12lbs you should make around 400+

The guy in the thread above spent around 3gs in parts and another on 1000 in tuning and labor.

do eeet!!!

its about $1700 for the kit minus the sc...you can find and eaton setup on svtperformance or cl or ebay from $250-500...i just found one with blower, tb/plenum setup for $275 on there

plus you can find fuel injectors and everything else on there super cheap...i can even get you the fuel pump for around $110 brand new if thats needed...you wont be spending a huge huge amount of money and like tank said you can hit 400 easy with this kit

plus, how many people do you see with the m112 on a gt? and do you really need more than 400hp? thats really enough to spank most cars you come across...600hp would be awesome with all the other sc's out there but really, why do you need that much?

im going to be diong the swap as well....depending on how much you want to spend, if you get the blower in the $200 rang you can always send it off to posi performance and they port it of you for around $300 and you'll be able to make even more power.... i say go for it!!!!

I'm a big fan of this kit. If I had a PI GT, or if Tork Tech had a kit for the NPIs, this is what I would have done. Assuming you can do the labor yourself (it isn't very hard...), it can be done for <$3500. Your motor will go before that blower runs out of breath. AND, the best part, it's positive displacement. Nothing like making 8 pounds of boost off of idle. Ask the Vortech guys if they can do that...

Im going to be doing this over winter. So far ive purchased the oem heat exchanger and some of the piping, ic reservoir, and autometer steering column gauge pod for $80 total. OEM Cobra air intake was $25 shipped, and Lightning 90mm maf was $50 shipped. I bought some oem cobra fog lights for $10 locally and sold them for $60 shipped so the maf was basically free.

I think it would be a good investment, specially if your not looking to spend alot of money. With Tork Techs kit, you should see close to 400rwhp(I would say 370ish),depending on boost and tune, which is plenty especially for the money. I bought there complete kit(using the Magnuson M112) and making 417.

You should be able to find a used term blower for around 500. Will just need a few other things then.

Does anyone know if that kit would work on a NPI GT? I don't really care if the intake ports don't perfectly line up, but would it fit given the fact that the NPI's have coil packs instead of Coil on pug ignition?

so can you just buy the lower intake and then source out your own supercharger?

Yes. Torque tech sells a kit with just the lower manifold and pulley system, and they allow you to source your own supercharger, injectors, intake, and TB...

I kind of want to buy a set of heads and cams from MHS next spring, but it will cost me over 2 grand with a tune. If the torque tech manifold will fit on my NPI heads, I may consider doing that instead

Waaaay back when, when my car was still stock and VERY slow, I talked to TT over email about putting it on the NPI heads. Now this email account has since been deleted, and it was a couple of years ago, so I'm going off memory here. IIRC, he told me that they were thinking about making a design for the NPI heads, or possibly just making custom kits when people requested them. I think the only big difference other than the intake ports was the front timing cover.

Do that for us when you get chance. I wouldn't mind to know, and honestly, I wouldn't throw out the idea of "upgrading" in the future if it would work relatively hassle free.

Considering Kenne Bell doesn't make a kit for the NPI headed guys, and thus leaves PD blowers pretty much out of the question for NPI guys (other than the SVO unit I have, which sucks compared to an intercooled M112), I feel like TT would pick up a decent amount of business if they had a NPI unit.

With a little finagling it'll work fine. There's a guy over on TCCOA who's got one on his '96 T-Bird and it works quite well.

If you can put a PI intake on NPI heads, then the physical bolt up is the same.

Yes, you can get the manifold with or without an intercooler. I wouldn't waste time getting one without.

Terminator Intercooled Kit for the '99-04 GT

Included:
# Aluminum lower intake manifold with remote coolant thermostat housing.
# High capacity intercooler resides inside the lower manifold directly below the customer provided '03/04 Cobra Supercharger.
# Front engine cross brace assembly that provides a independent 8-rib supercharger drive assembly with all belt tensioners and idlers.
# 7" lower piggy back style crank pulley that attaches to the factory pulley dampener to complete the separate 8-rib drive belt assembly.
# Installation is straight-forward and can easily be completed by any DIY enthusiast with basic hand tools in a weekend or less. Our detailed Installation Instructions are shown on the left side of the main page, or see the link below.

Also needed:
# Terminator Supercharger with pulley and appropriate belt.
# Larger fuel injectors to meet what ever HP/TQ level you achieve. We expect most who use this kit will easily achieve 350 to 400 HP, depending upon boost level so TTI suggests at least 39 to 42# injectors.
# Upgraded in-tank fuel pump.
# Air to water heat exchanger.
# Fluid pump to transfer coolant between the intercooler core and the heat exchanger.
# Fluid reservoir to allow for a place to add coolant and check fluid level.
# Coolant lines, hose clamps, engine belts, etc. are not included since we do not know what you plan to use for a heat exchanger, or where you will be mounting it.
# Complete intake assembly, such as a throttle body, intake tube, MAFS, and filter.
# Custom computer tune

^^I have seen ALL of these things (minus the tune) sold at one time on Ebay for less than $1000, on multiple occasions.

Last time they had the price listed, the intercooled manifold was around $1900. So $1900 for the manifold + $1000 for the blower and accessories + $300 for a tune + $300 for miscellaneous stuff you always need = $3500 total. Pretty sweet deal for a PD blower when you consider it'll be at least a couple thousand more for a Kenne Bell.

I also believe you could then put a KB intented for a Cobra on a 2V if you so choose. It would be very pricy but it is possible. TorkTech claims the kit can get close to 600 HP which for 3500 isn't a bad price. You will definately need changed internals though.

So question, would it be better for me personally to get a 03 Cobra motor wiring harness and all for around 5 grand? I know the person who might be selling and it would be a tough choice to ditch the 2V and go with the 4V or piece together the stuff for this build. I don't think they are willing to sell the pieces I need since that would not be so smart on their side.
