I have come to the realization I have too many projects and not enough money or time. So, at leaste one of the three Stangs has to go. First on the chopping block is gonna be my 70 fastback. I have done well selling parts on Ebay, but have never atempted something as large as a car. I am thinking I don't want to take Pay Pal on a purchase that big. Does, any one have any suggestions on pitfalls or other things to watch out for. I always list with lots of good pictures and descriptions, and with 60 or 70 auctions where I was the seller, I have only had one dead beat bidder. However, you here stories about fake money orders and such and it makes a guy a little nervous. Any suggestions are greatly apprieciated. I will link it to here once I list it. PS. It is a great project car. Already has new floorboards and solid frame and body. Not a rust bucket

Car, take $500.00 deposit via paypal. Balance wire transfer.

Selling cars is different than parts. A good bit more deadbeat bidders with cars, especially buyers remorse.

Are the ebay charges the same? Have you had any trouble with scammers? Do you limit biders to only US? Or limit 0 or negative feedback? Thanks

Ebay charges by value the item sold for, they don't care if it's a car or your virginity you are selling.

Red's advice is excellent.

Personally, unless you expect this car to draw customers from out of the country or you live near Canada/Mexico, I'd limit to US bidders only. Don't worry much about the feedback, but I would put in a clause that says Bidders with less than x feedback need to contact you 1st.

Shipping I would leave up to the buyer. Tell them they are responsible for all shipping costs and work (they figure it out themselves).

Only other thing I can comment on is your auction times. People like to bid at the last moment. Often the sale price doubles in that last few hours. Because of this, you want the auction to end when everyone is around to bid. NOT at 3am, etc.

Make sure to state that it is a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit.
