Hey guys. I've been thinking about getting a pair of racing seats for my Mustang. My stock seats are a little rough, but liveable. A friend has racing seats, and they're pretty comfortable, and hold you in a lot better than stockers, which is why I want them. I'll be getting 3/4 pt. harnesses too. Anyway, I can't afford some nice Sparcos or Corbeaus, so I'm looking at cheaper seats. I found some on Ebay, and they're like 95.00 for a pair, plus 120 shipping. They look decent enough, but I don't have any first hand experience with them. Has anyone used these seats, and what do you think about them?
Here's a few links of different seats I'm considering. The second ones are more expensive, but look sturdier. I'll either be getting red/black to match the car, or grey/black to match the factory interior.

Those seats don't look like they are the best of quality and the price reflects that. I bought some R-1 racing seats off of ebay for about $400 shipped and I couldn't be happier with them. They look great too. Check the link in my sig for pics of the seats.

I really like the looks of the Black pleather racing seats that summit has. But I don't know how long they will last. I got mine for $400 something, and they creek a little bit which can be annoying. And the fact that custom brackets will probably have to be made makes install a pain in the ass, especially if you don't have a welder....Why not go with 94+ seats? they bolt right in.

they should be good, my dad ordered racing seats of ebay, we got 2 for 150 bucks they came in like 2 weeks, instalation was a pain but it was on his 67 shelby replica, so they had to weld the new rails to the old ones and it was a pain shouldnt be that hard on a newer car, we later switched them out to newer better seats but they did they job for a while and were pretty comfortable heres a pic of them in the car

Seats might be one the best additions to a car, since thats where you spend all your time. I love my leather recaro-style seats that I got out of an '83. Make sure you get something comfortable and i promise it will make driving your car so much more enjoyable.

hey mob,
good to hear you finally got some new wheels for your stang, those are gonna make your car look great
now maybe everyone will get off your back about your wheels, lol
post pics with the new wheels on

I dunno about you guys but I LOVED the seats in my 87lx, even after the drivers one broke and it had the ol mustang ghetto lean going they still held in and where great for long distance tours, I used to drive about 4 hrs there and 4 hrs back every weekend to see friends and never once had as sore back.....imop they where great.... I still love CORBs and Sparc's tho ;)

Well im gonna go and tell you guys that those ebay seats arent relly that bad....my buddy just put a pair in his 89 lx and for 212.00 they are excellent. Comfortable and they hold you in place much better than the stock seats did. Definetly a pain to mount though...but once you get them in, wash the carpet and throw down a little armor-all youll like what yuo see...btw he got the black and grey ones and we had to get a pair of small steel plates from home depot and drill holes to mount it to the stock seat brackets. Worked very well though.

Well, the seach is back on. I went autocrossing the other day, and I got chucked around in my seat pretty bad. I don't have alot of cash to put into seats, but I need something that's going to keep me in place next time I hit the course. When the seats go in, some 3pt harnesses will replace the OEM seatbelts so I can stay even snugger in the seat. I've been scowering EBay, but I want to see if anyone else has any experience with these seats. I don't really care about install dificulty, because as Chris will tell you, I am the master of hack and manhandling, and I'll make them fit lol. I just want a seat that's comfortable enough, holds well, and won't break or wear out or feel cheezy. I like chris's seats, but they're a tad tight on the backside. I'm a bigger guy, so I need wider seats, which I have found on Ebay. If anyone else has a review from hands on about these seats, please let me know!!
