Hi all I was surfing ebay and I found a twin turbo kit for just under $1000. Has anyone tried this kit, pros and cons any info will be helpful. The price fits my budget nicely.

The cheap kit is missing stuff that is in the more expensive kit like the oil system. You get what you pay for. Let me also note that the Honda down the street from me has a bigger intercooler.

This isn't nearly as bad as my old DSM site.. we literally got a question about e-bay turbo kits every day.

We even had a sticky at the top of the page.

The problem is everyone says they are junk, yet everyone (most of them) saying they are junk have no experience with them, or even know anyone who has had experience with them.

As someone mentioned its missing some things you'll need to get. BUT from speaking with people who actually have purchased them, installed them, and are using them, they aren't as bad as everyone says. You have to be a little more then your average mechanic before installing it. It requires a little bit of customization.

well here's my Overall view of the kit:

they first come out: everyone including myself says they are crap.. and yet nobody has seen or even attempted to use it, they were made by ssautochrome on ebay.

couple years later, a new name on ebay (I dont know what they are now, there are actually a couple of em) people have bought them, not really anything bad in the fitment dept. The turbos are not the best, but they work, they have put better seals in them, that was the problem in the first place. they dont come with dp's which isnt that hard to do. A couple people on turbomustangs have done it, and made pretty decent power, out of em and they dont have anything really awful to say about the kit.

overall I think it was some ebay hype at first, about being too good to be true. but now I think its a legit kit, if you want to do some pipe fab and run lines and make a fuel system, everything else is there, as far as piping and the turbos and ****..

It is fine if you dont mind the fabrication. If you cant bend and weld pipe then it probably isnt the best idea because you will spend more in labor to get it to fit the it is to just buy one from hp or hellion or someone.

They used to be crappy. I dont know about now, I do know one of the companies that was big into the cheap ebay turbo kit at first was ssautochrome and they sucked back in the day. But I had a 2000 M6 vette and they made a good set of headers for a damn good price from what I seen. Some on ls1.com raved about the performance to cost ratio they got from them. I could not bring myself to get them though and opted for Kooks long tubes.
