how do you disconnect them from the rearend???....im doing the 5 lug conversion so i dont think im gonna need em so i think im just gonna cut them loose for now????
there's another thread on here about that i just responded to the other day...
but, if you're going to go rear disc, then you won't need them anymore, if you're keeping your drums, you might want to keep them.
as far as removing them, if you're keeping your axle in the car-just pull it away from the brake shoe with a pair of grips, or something along those lines, usually just a twist and pull will get it off.
to remove them from the chassis, the other end is attached to a splitter (remove from here the same way you removed them from the brake shoe) under your ebrake handle above the driveshaft, and runs to a little retainer with four small tangs to hold it in place (the drum back plates have the same thing-one of the guys on here mentioned clamping them together with a small hose clamp and tapping it out with a hammer or mallet, you can do the same thing in both places and wala! they'll be free from your car
