i don't want to start some battle, i'm just beginning to seriously look for a shortblock. i'll be ready in about a week to lay down full payment. i want a fairly basic setup.

hyper or forged is fine, it will be n/a. street driven, 6500 rpm, twisted wedge heads, stock block. i just NEED someone with proven longevity behind them

i had a chp 331 years ago. i just want a decent shortblock for a good price. i dont want to spend alot on this if possible. is rnh the guy still? im only familiar honestly with dss, chp and brief reading today of rnh's website.

Email or call him to go over everything. price varies with different options. I was very happy with what I paid for what I received

Posted via Mobile Device you might want to consider looking into a used stroker. Sometimes you can get a better quality assembly that may just need freshened up and end up spending around the same or even less.

yeah. im also considering that. i honestly don't want to spend quite as much as some of this stuff costs. i've just had terrible luck with used things, let alone a shortblock. so i'm going to watch for some deals. if i can pick up a used, well documented shortblock for 1100-1300ish i might go that route. versus the 2100+ cost for a new one it seems.

i even tried to roughly compare costs of a 347 setup to a 408 setup. it's not much different, except i start to choke the engine out without buying entirely new supporting mods.

all i know, is i want more power for cheap.

i have tfs heads now. they are just an old school casting. so i wanted to get the new "fast as cast" or whatever heads. atleast some ported ones. i figure i'll sell mine for like 500-600 cause they are in great working shape. they just laid down good dyno numbers.

so right there, im looking at another 800+ for replacing heads, 2300 + with a shortblock shipped, custom cam, longtubes, blah blah. it adds up so quick, im tempted to just throw on some nitrous.

there is a roller 351 shortblock locally for cheap. i guess i can grab that and build a stroker on the side. i just want to explore all angles here for my best price/performance. stroked 302, 302 + boost, 351, 351 stroked. lots of options.

i got my 347 and didn't really do alot of work right off because of lack of funds. thats the reason for my current setup, BUT i now have the money to actually put the parts on it to get the HP out that it's capable of. my plans are by the end of feb to have a set of 205 trick flow high ports, box R intake, and custom cam aswell gonna try my best to hit the 400 rwhp mark NA.

well i want to keep stuff as simple of a picture as possible now with the option to make more down the road. so i am leaning towards a small blower right now. novi 1000, maybe an s-trim.

if/when my shortblock can't take it (i want like 5 pounds) then ill either do a 302/331/347, more boost, better heads, whatever. for now, i can do a blower setup/tune/supporting mods for under 2k.

compared to 4k + for comparible end power results with my 347 route.
