I did an 4cyl to V8 conversion. I have since realized that all ford components are not the same. I have 1992 Mustang body and have a 1990 engine. The car is running a T5 speed. I have a C3W computer which is wrong(it is for an automatic car). I recently discovered that there is a difference in the distributor control module. The control module is for an automatic car as well. I have an A9L computer that I tried to hook up and the car would run, but it would not pull. My questions are listed below. The car runs strong & fast. Hard starting, excess fuel consumption. I am trying to get it to be dependible

Do I have to run a Manual computer in my car? (I know these affects ignition timing)
Do I need to change the ingnition control module for a manual?
Are the pin locations all the same on on A9L computers. I read a post that ford changed the wiring one year.(I.E. fuel pump) Mine is a E9.
What engineering code A9L will work with the 1992 car?

Any advice would be nice thanks.

shouldnt matter if you have a manual or auto ECU. I would double check your timing and make sure that the plug wires are run in the correct order.

The car runs awesome with the C3W computer...I only had problems when I changed to the A9L. The fuel pump ran the whole time the key was on.
