hey guys as you may see i have a 93 cobra upper n lower with the lower very slightly ported

last time i had the car on the dyno, the power curve peaked at 5400. it made 275 n 306 with the the gt40s bone stock (slightly off topic but it blew a head gasket a day or two later so only then did i port polish n mill them)

my q is --> will swapping the cobra manifold to an eddy performer or performer rpm actually yield some power and have it last a little longer??

id really like to strectch my power band to at least 5800 or 6000 if at all possible keeping the ported gt40s n a tfs stg1.also looking to pull another 10 horsies out of it

The shorter runner Eddy RPM will shift peak HP/TQ to higher rpm so you'll gain a few HP higher up and lose some torque lower down. I think you'd do better to send your Cobra upper/lower to Tmoss so he can work his magic on them.

well heres my concern
which i do understand is something to be concerned about...the heads were ported n polished recently and the intake was done already when i got it (used 93 take off)...now if i go n send tmoss my intake theres no way for him to know what was done to the heads and i dont have any records cause my buddy did it in the shop he works at, but he had to do it after closing so that his boss wouldnt charge me out the a**. Unfortunately he got caught doing his own n no longer works there otherwise my intake was about to go in right after he finished his own H/I. Now im stuck with what seems to be a sweet set of gt40s n a stockish intake. Im thinkin of even getting the typhoon

how much would the tmoss port job cost me if i sent him both my heads n intake to evenly port them out n get them to match? dont forget the shippin charges from NY all the way down to FL (thats where he is if i remember correctly)

I wouldnt even bother getting another intake. If im not mistaken that cam is about done at that RMP. Seems like a pretty well matched combo as is. Just have T-moss port the lower and be done.

As I see it

Several things to consider

Generally speaking .......

Yes ... The RPM should shift the rpm band up

However ... the OEM heads start to peter out a bit sooner
than
Some after market heads like Edel's, TFS, AFR's and the like

Tom has done work for many on here and they praise him for it

He has lots of good info on his site about what you can expect
and
He has posted much info on this very site you can find

If you can get the RPM at that price

I would scarf it up and sell off the OEM Cobra :Word:

The RPM will scrub away a bit of low end torque
but
LT's and a sharp tune will offset if not totally recoupe the loss

Just a few of my thoughts about it I guess

almost forgot ...

I know my RPM matched up to my AFR's real nice
but
I don't know how it would match up to your GT 40's

i would get the typhoon for 220 in a heart beat. i have one with stock unported e7s and it pulls to about 5500 with the stock heads and cam. i think the typhoon will give you more power than the cobra and i dont really think u will loose any lowend torque honestly

I'd go performer and port that sucker. I had cobra set up too. cobra looks good and tmoss sure can port it at $150 i think. but what about when eddy gets ported? It will flow better then cobra any day. SELL the cobra like i did and get the eddy. save for the better heads and cam, when done sell the heads and cam get you 1/2 money back. That's just me

omg im so tempted!!!
is this gonna be way to much for me??? im looking for power up top n for longer

i have 4.10s in this biznatch so low end torque is not my concern, its just because of the gear that i want to rev longer and with powah!!!

YES OR NO?(& of course why) i have 20 hrs to decide!!!

BTW i just noticed that my dizzee hold down was in the way of the lower mani n that my mechanic notched it a bit in order for the lower mani to fit properly

anyone know whether the eddy perf. RPM will give me any clearance issues?

***im goin to attempt to do this sucker on my own
