Sorry for my ingnorance but, that is what asking is for right..
Just got my edelbrock carb and intake. All I have to go by is my old 2 barrel setup. It seems I have 3 vac. lines in the front of the carb, a fuel line, & another vac. line in the back.
Now, my current setup has most of the stuff plugged up and a bunch of old emissions stuff plugged as well. I have 1 hose going from the front to the valve cover. 1 tinny hose going to the dizzy? is that what it's called? Right in front of the distributor. 1 fuel line and that is it. Do I just cap everything else off? The port in the back of the carb is rather large - and I have one port on my intake that is also rather large, but not sure what goes in there. Do I just cap those off? I do not have power brakes so no lines are going there.
Below is a picture of a few items... #1 - I believe that is the egr...? I was todl I wont need that anymore. #2 is the old emissions stuff someone used a sparkplug as a plug... Gonna clean all that up. #3 are the two ports I am unaware of what to do with... #4 on the top is the front of the new carb & #4 on the bottom is showing the trans kick down.
Could someone exlain the kickdown? do i need to transfer that to the new carb? How does it work? What does it do? I have a FMX tranny if that is of any help.
