Any one have experience with these heads?

right now im deciding if i want to stick with my IRon GT-40s or go with the edelbrocks

Also with stock pistons... sould i run the eddys with the 1.90 valve or the 2.02 valve? i do plan on running an aftermarket Comp xe270hr-14 cam

If it was me, i would spend the extra $200-$300 and get AFR's. It's a better head. Also, you will have to notch pistons for the 2.02's. So i would stay with the 1.90

I had eddy's with the 1.90 intake valve, cobra intake, B cam and 3.73's and I wasn't happy. the car only put down 260 to the wheels tuned, you can do that with gt40 irons. Only benefit would be the 50lbs lost but not worth the money IMO. I agree if youre gonna go for it spend the extra dough on the AFR's, they are the best. I have also heard great things about the $900 aluminum heads from Tri-state Cylinder head too, you may wanna check into them.

Edelbrock heads are good. Like any other head including AFR they need to goto the head shop before they go on, for a valve job, bowl cleanup and spring seat pressure. Ya, i know nobody wants to spend another $200, but it's a proven fact that it makes the car run better and make more power.

There is no proof of afr being anything but more expensive than other heads.
I wouldn't be afraid to run gt40x, edelbrock rpms, tw's or afr's. I've seen 302 cars on the dyno using all these brands of heads make around and above 300rwhp.

AFR cars may seem like they make more power because the owners of those cars usually aren't afraid to spend big bucks on the rest of the combo.

Snail used a B cam and cobra intake with his edelbrocks, if those were better supporting mods that number would of been closer to 300rwhp.
