Thinking about buying a set of used Vic jrs with 10deg locks and retainers,2.05x1.60valves,guides etc. what are the pro's and cons of these heads? Researched a lot on AFR &TFS stuff don't know much about the Vics. Heard horror stories on the Estreet heads and performers. Any help guys is appreciated.

Also was considering trying to use these on my stock 5.0. Would I have to remove too much material flycutting the pistons?ie weaken them too much. The heads have otb springs are they ok with an e303 cam? I'd buy these heads for my future 427 but it would be cool if I could run them until then.

being a stock valve center head the 2.05 int valve is going to be fairly close to the cyl wall, which isnt ideal. but overall these are a good head with room to grow. quite a few guys have gone high 10s with these heads. the PTV issue is going to depend on what cam you use. the radial clearance of the valve really isnt that big of a deal in itself. there really isnt a head you can install with an aftermarket cam and not check PTV. the stock HO cams .050 open event is 9* after top dead center, which is why you dont really have to check it. it has nothing to do with peak lift, and the difference in radial clearance between a 2.05 and a 1.94 valve (which is a number i use only because many consider it 'safe') is only .055", and thats if you stand the valve up at a 90* angle. at a 20* valve angle that number is further reduced. other than being close to the wall i wouldnt worry about the 2.05 valve thing.
