not my mustang, but ford vintage.

My 66 f100 with a 302, performer rpm intake.

I bought an edelbrock 600 cfm carb brand new last summer after I broke a fuel filter off in the stock auto lite 2bbl carb. Ever since then I have had issues with the throttle either sticking or not kicking down after the motor warms up.

I have tried adjusting, but have lost the manual that came with the carb. It is not the throttle cable, it moves and returns freely. I was thinking it was the idle adjustment, but I wound it all the way down to where it would barely run. It still had the problem.

any ideas on what to mess with?

Check where the linkage attaches to the carburetor.
I had to add a washer & plastic insert to make it glide like butter.

The carter pin would hang sometimes, linkage bind other times, came and went.
I just went to the junk yard and pulled a bunch of little bits.

Yeah it's the kick-down linkage/arm getting hung check and adjust with hammer until it operates smoothly. I'm kidding about the hammer part.

ok, got it.

smack with hammer until it works right.

I cannot recall if the kickdown is attached at the moment. I have not been driving it since the windshield wiper motors took a poop. Oregon with no wipers is not cool.

I am off work for the next couple of days, I will screw with it then, and be back to bug you guys again.
