Not sure if you guys hit the homepage often or not, but thought this was worthy 'a thread. Looks like there would be just over 400rwhp on just 5 pounds of boost!

my dad just called for my brother today on his new car, my old one, a supercharger for the 94. the guy started telling him about the edelbrock supercharger for this model. first i've heard about it was today. but i'll definitely have to read into it

466 flywheel hp is about 396 rwhp for a manual trans or about 373 rwhp for an automatic trans with customary drivetrain losses. That's not bad if the kit is priced around $4K. But, if it creeps up to $5K or more, then there are certainly better kits on the market for that kind of money.

Why is the low PSI important? Does this mean the mileage may be better than other superchargers? Or is it less wear on the engine?

I like it! it's the new TVS design so the potential for huge power is all there plus long intake runners and a valving system for retaining stock driveability and building low end torque is just perfect!

466HP at only 5psi is a lot of power, Roush recommends internal upgrades for their TVS unit because of the potential for big numbers.

Diesel the lower the PSI and the lower the intake charge, the more durable the engine is because you're reducing chances for knocking.

The significance of this package is its efficiency in design. The inverted front inlet design creates less restrictive path of air flow resulting in more balanced pressure at the inlet and outlet. This, along with the internal bypass, contributes to less power to operate the unit allowing more power per psi than any comparable system on the market. In addition the TVS rotor group pushes air upwards, through the intercooler, and then makes one long sweeping turn via the 15" long intake runners. This runner length carries 400+ ft./lbs of torque from 3,000-6,000 rpm!

Other systems place the rotors above the intake manifold and push the air down through the intercooler. The air then deadheads, makes a 180-degree turn upwards and then makes another 180-degree turn downwards through the runners - not very efficiently - therefore requiring more boost pressure to make similar power. More boost equates to more strain on the bottom end and increased heat.

idk, depends how much it costs vs the roush TVS. i'm sure you can just get a bigger pulley for the TVS for less boost. i dont care about keeping the warranty. i like the looks of the TVS blower better.

It should be recognized that, like the Roush and the Corvette ZR-1, the E-Force utilizes a Twin Vortices Series (TVS) rotor group also. For those of you who may not be familiar with Eaton, they are a leader in supercharger rotor design and engineering. Their rotor groups are utilized by companies such as Roush, GM, Jaguar, Magnuson and more. You can learn about their various rotor designs here:

Now to compare the Edelbrock E-Force TVS to that of the Roush R2300, it's true the Roush makes a little more power @ 13.5 psi. The E-Force is also a 2.3L and is capable of much more power with a smaller pulley and will easily match the R2300's 500hp with half the boost of the Roush. Again, a testament to the engineering desing - less boost, more power.

It's initial release is designed as a true-bolt on package and includes everything you need to install 466 hp / 439 ft/lbs of torque on an otherwise stock Mustang GT- it even includes a Diablo Sport programmer with proper calibration. By producing 5 pounds of boost you will not negatively affect your bottom end nor will you have to upgrade the fuel system (aside from the 41 lb/hr injectors that are also included). This saves you a lot of money in upgrades.

Concerning the looks, well to each his/her own. We feel the appearance of the E-Force is second to none. And the coil covers....bad-ass comes to mind.

sorry, i dont mean to jump the gun on this blower. we all, me included, should give it a fair chance, seeing it is new. those numbers are very good for the 5 psi. cant wait to get the full report, pricing, and everything.

I can say we will be competetive with the aforementioned kits on price. We are however spending ad / sponsorship dollars with Stangnet in 2009 and plan to be around the forums for further interaction.

I am really impressed with the numbers and design of this supercharger. Making 400HP at only 5psi of boost makes me ask just one question..... What can it get with 10 or 12 psi???

this is a great design, but i wonder how it will compare to the other TVS kits out there. TVS is fairly new to the market, and other companies are sure to release kits as well. I am pretty sure that ROUSH has a TVS kit now.
