First start off by removing the hood adjusters. i used a punch that i ground into a flat head. and few whacks with a hammer and they cam right out.

next use a round file in the center of the openings just enough for the pins to fit thru.

then set your hood pins in kinda tall. so you can mark where you need to drill the holes. set the hood down and mark it. i used a screw driver to make a couplre scratches.

next use a punch before drilling. and use a farily small bit for the guide hole. once you do IMPORTANT!! drill from the top down as the nasty burs will be out of sight and you will have a nice level hood for the chrome covers. use progressivly larger bits to widen the holes. and a little wd-40 helps the cutting.

before you get too far cover up your airfilterless carb as to not get metal shavings in it.

then set your pin height.

for the chrome cover things. i set the hood down and set the covers on and held them in place while i hit each of the 4 holes with the center punch. but dont remove the plastic until your done!! screw in the 8 sheet metal screws to secure the chrome things and your done. sit back and enjoy your handy work.

final product

I liked the way the cords looked on my car but once they started scratching my paint I took them off. Off topic but does anyone know where you can buy just the pins for FRPP hood pins? I lost one of mine

Thats the only thing id be worried about. if you could coat them in something clear and flexible, you would be safe.

Yeah they do. Mine did. Even with that plastic coating that comes around them they started scratching my paint.
