For you all who did the 89-93 EFI conversion, what did you do with the starter solenoid? Did you just just the stock 60's unit or did you upgrade? Additionally, I have a ministarter from a 93 and have bypassed the solenoid on the starter. Your input is appreciated as always.

Thanks,

Mike

I mimicked the fox setup w/ministarter, new style chassis solenoid to go with the starters solenoid.

Yup - what Tubo3 said. You basically use the fender-mounted solenoid as a switch to feed 12V to the small terminal on the mini-starter, while the big terminal on the mini-starter has 12V all the time. Search on this topic - there are schematics somewhere. It's not difficult, in any case.

I agree, wire it like ford did in the 80s.

So should I go to the parts store and ask for a Fox style Solenoid?

I would just use the stock fender solinoid. A couple years ago when all our neighbors 80s Fords were going through soilionds like lightbulbs (they shouldn't be allowed to touch any wiring, idiots), and we had to fix it for them, I compared one of them to mine and I couldnt tell the difference.
