Egr/ Shortie Header ???

I put BBK Shorties on about 5 months ago... No problems besides the little copper EGR ext. that goes from the header to the EGR Unit was a little off centered.

Yesterday the copper nut on the EGR side decided to back itself off. Now I could rig the thing back on there like it was to begin with but, I would like to do it right. Anyone run in to this with BBK or for that matter any headers?

Did your headers come with a new tube? Mine did and it fit good. Think you may have put it in upside down somehow?


Seems like my EGR tube and nuts were all steel anyway .....

It did come with the new tube, and I took it off this morning to double check that,, but it is installed correct, maybe just a little flaw in the factory manufacturing???

My tube kept backing itself off too, so I just put a small amount of loc-tite on it and that fixed the problem.

I retightened it today and now problems yet but if it comes off again I'll go with that locktite.. Thanks guys

I don't mean to hijack your thread but I have a quick question on those BBK headers. I have a set of BBK shorties that I haven't installed yet. I bought them off ebay and the headers didn't come with an egr tube or copper nut. Do you need both the tube and nut to install these headers properly or do you use only the new tube?
