EGR tube too short and broken fuel line

While finishing up a pro products intake install
I found out that the EGR tube is too short
and broke the fuel line in half right by the fuel rail

tried to straighten out the egr tube bends to get a little more length out of it (i need about a half inch). that didnt work, so I cut the tube in half to do a temporary fix. I tried to use the penny trick and cap off my egr until I figured out something better. Realized that the threads on the connection to the header seem to be crossthreaded

and i dont even know what to do about the fuel line.

help? lol

Is this the fuel line leading from the fuel rail to the hard lines in the passenger back corner? Go with stainless lines. Russell finally made the one missing connector we need for our cars:

The first post lists the Russell part numbers. If you go that route, later posts recommend using two 45 deg AN fittings (for the fuel rail side) and two 90 deg AN fittings for the hard line side.

the fuel line that broke is either the fuel feed or return. its the one closest to the front of the car. has anyone ever had one break? or know what to do?

I did a little research on the egr tube. and I guess I just needed an adapter, but its too late for that now
looks like I need to get a new egr tube or make my own and get an adapter
but I dont know what to do about the threads on the header
if I cant get them to thread straight, i might need to get a new header.

Yes ... an adapter was all you needed to get connected

You can make a tube out of soft copper found at your local Home Depot,
Lowes, etc, store

You'll need a flair tool to flair each end of your home made tube

You use the orginal fittings ... but ... you may need to replace the one
that has buggered up threads

unfortunately the buggered up threads are the ones actually on the header itself

The stock fuel lines are hard nylon with a rubber sleeve over them. The nylon cracks/splits under the rubber sleeve and it's hard to tell just by looking at them.

A couple options.....

-Buy the adapters and AN fittings and make up some braided new ones.

-Slice the hose off of the stock fuel line end fittings and pick up some Goodyear EFI fuel line at your local autoparts store and press it on to the barbs of the stock fittings. Maybe use an EFI clamp for security, but I've heard that hose fits on the barbs pretty tight.

-Find someone who is parting out a '94/5 or someone that has replaced their lines with braided lines and still have the stock ones. That link on the corral for the group buy on the Russel fittings got quite a few members to upgrade their stock lines to braided AN lines. I was one of them. I have 2 sets of stock lines, but 1 is cracked just like yours and the other I just took off about a month ago. It was a little difficult to get off, the O ring was sticking a bit inside the connector. After twisting and pulling I finally got it off. It appears OK but it's hard to be certain that it's not cracked/broken now too.

I was just in there figuring out that it wasnt gunna be too hard to replace the fuel line. It was actually way too easy to take apart. everything just popped apart effortlessly in just a few minutes. it was actually kind of scary how easy it was

cut the ends off and realized they were only held on by barbs. When I get some new hose to put on, i am deffinately gunna use some clamps too though.


and as for the egr tube im gunna try to make my own with some tube and a flaring tool. just hupe i can straighten out the threads on the header. if not, it looks like im gettin new headers

As far as the EGR tube goes, I don't run one now, but I used to and I made my own with soft copper tubing. You can bend that by hand. I forgot what size to use, I think it's something like 1/2" OD or 5/8" OD, not sure exactly. I have mine on a shelf in the garage and can take a look and measure later tonight. I think I still have some of the roll of soft copper tubing also.
