I wanted to lower my new 2004 GT (looks like I can go hit the hills) but I not too sure how low would be too low. I was thinking of trying the Pro-kit from Eibach but I'm not sure if the 1.5" will be enough. Any suggestions?

yeah, go with those... I got the sportlines (i believe it is called; its been awhile) and it is damn low! I have put on a skid plate since then because of how often I hit bottom (and yes, I know to go slow and go in sideways, but it still scratches bottom sometimes). My kit is the 2" all the way around. 1 1/2" would have been perfect. Plus, I hear (somone else can confirm this or not) that the pro kit doesn't require CC plates. My drop was so low I had to get them.

Pro kit was the perfect drop for my vert. Pretty much 1.5" all the way around. No cc plates needed for alignment. Handles really good, nice firm ride without being harsh...

I would never go lower than my Pro kit. I have long tubes, and a clearance robbing intercooler also, and my Pro Kit already causes plently of clearance issues. Depends on what else you plan to do to your car in the future if you can scarafice so much ground clearance. Oh, and depending on what kind of power you want your Stang to make - the more you lower your Stang the bigger your traction problems are (less suspension travel). Makes a big difference. You can't have both there for sure.

That being said. Yes the sportline looks a little better, but it's not anywhere close to being worth it to me. Besides I'm plenty happy w/ my Pro Kit anyway (definately better than stock).

H&R SS

Just go for the H&R SS springs. You will love the ride/ drop. No real problems with buttoming out and i have some pretty bad roads to go down right now(they dug up parts of the road i take to work to resurface it)

Exactly! I lost considerable time on my 60' after the sportlines were put on. I went from a 1.6(maybe a 1.7 not exactly sure) to a best of 2.19! If I change the shocks and crap maybe I could get it down a little, but it still sucks.

I love my prokit, Its not and extreme drop and its not a moderate drop. Its a just right drop with very little rake. I got about 3/4 inch from the rear to the front, while alota other modest drop springs give you a huge rake. I put those in along with a set of tokico struts and shocks that came off the Mach and the handling and ride is amazing!

You can search under my user name and find a post that says LOWERED THE CAR. I have before/after pics
