Hi,
I am looking at purchasing a electric fan for my 89 mustang gt convertible. I found one off a 93 taurus wagon. First, is the CFM from this fan sufficient? Will it fit? There arent any wires or connectors coming out of it, can I still make it work? If so, how? I attached a picture of the fan. Let me know what you think about this fan. What do I need to buy to get this wired p, and also what kit to get this running electrically in relation to a certain coolant temperature? Where do I buy the kit? Thanks, Landon.

I don't know what the tauras fans look like. But to control any fan you should look at www.dccontrol.com This is the best way to control any electric fan

The plug is in the center where the motor is, you'll need to go to a junkyard and try to find a Ford 3-wire fan harness from a mid to late 90's Ford.

Taurus fans will work, but make sure you have a 3G upgrade

that fan is off of a 3.0 taurus, i know cause i have one. look for one off of a 3.8 taurus. it cools fine on my 4cyl car, dunno on a small block though. you may not need to get the wire harness for it. just look at the pins and see if you can get a spade connector on there. thats what i did on mine.

for the controller get one from www.dccontrol.com it is worth the money, and the two week wait.

I think I will pass on that particular fan. I think I am going to get a Mark VIII. Any other used electric fans out there that are a perfect fit for my 89 gt?

Seconldy, I went to DCC, would I want the FK35 fan control kit? Those darn things are expensive. I was hoping to convert this to an electric fan reasonably! LOL.

3.8 Taurus fan does great, you really dont need the dcc control, just a fan thermostat and relay will do the job

After the Bosch relay, the temperature probe/thermostat, and wiring, you'd pay just as much, if not more than the DCC unit costs anyway, and be about 20% as efficient.

And the FK-35 should be perfect for that fan. The one you're looking at won't flow as much as the 3.8 fan most people use, but in the year or more I've had the taurus/dcc setup on my ZJ, I've never once heard the fan running anywhere close to full speed. A smaller/less cfm flowing fan will just run more often.
