The taurus 3.8L v6 fan flows around 3200 cfm and I believe the Mark 8 fan flows around 4000 cfm.
The taurus fan works fine for me (stock engine)...car runs cool and I can feel it blowing standing outside my drivers door from under the car. I do recommend the DCC unit www.dccontrol.com
Alternate is a 93-97 Lincoln town car - 19" fan that covers the radiator to to bottom, with about 2"-3" bare on each side. You will need to fab some mount brackets. I built my brackets from aluminum angle from Home Depot. I am going to install the fan when I get the plan for the fan controller worked out.
I'm running the Mark Viii with a DCC FK35 and love it. I no longer have to worry about cooling isses with my car. But as JT eluded to, it's a very thick fan so you have to trim the shroud. I think I took off about 1 - 1.5 inches and got the fan to fit between the crank and waterpump pulley.
I went with the taurus fan so I wouldn't have to deal with the clearance issues. But that mark VIII fan can move some air, thing sounds like a jet taking off.
When my DCC failed (my fault not the units) the fan kicked on 100% and I couldn't hear the car running. It can't put out a fire or anything, but it cooled my car from 210 down to 170 - 175 degrees while the motor was still running.
