im about to buy and electric fan off of ebay, either a taurus or a mark8.. What would I need to wire it up? I suck at electrical stuff. I have a 110 amp alt off my old taurus that is going to go on with it. Any help please?

There are many ways to do it, some just run relays and a toggle switch to control the fan, others use a "through core" thermo sensor to trigger the fan, an actual coolant sensor (VW switch), and the best way is the DCC.

It really all depends on how you want to go.

If I were to rank the different ways, I would say the DC Controller is the best, followed by the VW switch, then the through-core, then toggle.

Do a search on these forums for "e fan" or "taurus fan", you should find many threads dedicated to this topic.

You dont want to do the toggle switch method unless your car is seldom driven. At least put a controller (even a cheapie) on there and have a manual fan switch override (I think this is requisite for all cheap fan controllers anyhow). That way if you forget to flip the switch, hopefully the controller saves ya.

A quick search will really reveal more than you wanted to know, along with diagrams and all sorts of neat stuff (I hate it when people say to search, so that tells ya how much stuff is out there).

Good luck.
