electric supercharger?

Why waste the money on one of thoes when you can go to lowes or home depot and buy an electric leaf blower, hook up one of thoes light switches that you turn to dim and make the light brighter, splice into the main power wire with that, mount it inside your car, and once you take off crank it up all the way (or however much you want) and prepair to feel the power increase. I did this back when I first bought my car and I dynoed 250 to the rear wheels on an otherwise completly stock 5.0

I think someone has been sniffing too many turbo fumes.

1105 has moved up from the leaf blower to the twin hair dryers.

You might want to talk to Yellow1995Cobra. He is working on mounting a 5 Gallon shop vac in the trunk and running in the blower mode. He is hoping for 14lbs. of boost.

It could work, but it's just that converting from electric potential to mechanical/thermal energy is way way too inneficient. There's no way it could ever compare to even the most inneficient supercharger let alone a turbo charger. Those electric blowers are a joke.

I always thought that it might be possible using electricity and magnets, the same kind of technology that makes those european bullet trains float over the track at those fast speeds. Maybe in the year 2050.

Well if a Vortech S-Trim impeller spins 20,000 rpm to make 10 psi then how juice would it take to spin an electric supercharger? You would probably need an 18 wheeler full of batteries to follow the car around.

I have seen yellow1995cobra's mock set up and he is gonna use a fork-lift style battery tray and mount it on his rear seat delete. It's gonna make some serious boost.
