I have an 03 mach 1. I just dropped my keys in the water. I grabbed them out and checked to see if my keyless entry still worked, it did. But later in the night, i tried starting my car and it wouldnt start. it acted like the battery was dead. i had to jump start it. once it started, the lights were flickering and the radio shut on and off. i got back home and turned it off. I tried to start it again and it wouldnt start. if i put the key in, the interior lights would come on, but once i turned the key to the start position, all power would cut off and nothing would happen when i turn the key. I have a spare set of keys and i tried them, they did the same thing. I assume that the chip in the key has something to do with it. Maybe the wet key screwed up the computer system and it needs to be reset? please help! this is my daily dirver and I have never had a problem with it. this all happened once my keys got wet.

In my opinion, the wet key incident is just a coincidence and probably has nothing to do with the starting problem. You have the classic symptoms of a poor battery connection or a failed battery (high internal resiostance). Check the battery connections to be sure they are tight and corrosion-free.

For the 1999-2004 model year, the anti-theft system (PATS) disables fuel and spark. The results is a crank with NO start and a blinking theft light.

Your symptoms sound like a loose battery cable.
