This is really weird. I have a 96 GT, I used to have an alarm system in out, but I took it out. All the wiring is still there though. So I'm hooking up my XM Radio the other day and I found a hot wire from the old alarm harness. I wired that to a barrier strip on one side. On the same side I wired up the XM. On the other side of the barrier strip I have my Speed Cal hooked up. This is the problem when I have the ignition in the accessory position the XM radio works. If I start the car, the XM works. However if I get in the car and don't put it into accessory and then start, the XM doesn't work. But if I go straight to start, I never have a problem with the SpeedCal, just the XM. What could the problem be?

Find a new source for your 12V hot and be done with it. Fuse taps works great for that.
