Im having some major problems with my 1996 Mustang GT. Last week it began making a squelling noise similar to that of a supercharger but it was coming from within the dash area. When I accelerated the noise became louder and when i decelerated it went down. The weird thing is also when I use the power windows either side the noise becomes louder too even at idle. Needless to say the problem got worse... as I was driving yesterday the noise started up again, but this time while doing 45 mph the cars power cycled it didn’t turn off completely; although my headlights went off for a moment and the gauges went off and back on. This power cycling problem is becoming an increasing concern to me I need some ideas as to what could be causing this?
Im not sure if the AC compressor would be causing this or a vacuum leak or something to that effect if anyone has had similar problems or can offer any assistances it would be appreciated.
