Dash Light Failure?!?!

On my way home from a graduation last night my dash light just cut out, my raidio was sill working but everything else electrical except for the headlights just died...can someone please help me come to a conclusion, should i just break down and just buy a new wireing kit and rewire the whole car or could it be a ground that came loose, the lights came back on after a few seconds, went off and came back one agin about 3 or four times...

where would i check for a ground prob? id like to get this prob fixed soon, i have to go to work in a few hrs, any help is GREATLY appreciated

check your headlamp switch,it might be full of dirt or dust.Mine do the same thing after working for 40 years. Possible a wire is losing contact,so look for loose or broken wires.
