I have this new problem that developed in my car about a month ago. My rear light when I turn them on the back up lights stay on now. And when i apply my brakes my voltometer drops fast. If i brake at a light the car will stall if I dont rev it and let off the brakes. Can you guys clue me in as to what i can do to fix this. Electrical problems give me a headache. Thanks everyone for taking your time to try and help me out. Its a 1990 Gt by the way

Does anyone have any insight on this. My car has to get inspected at the end of the month. Being in school i really dont have the cash for my mechanic to spend alot of time on this. Hopefully the dude with the wrenches crossed in his avatar, JKFixxer ?? looks at this. He seems to know these cars inside and out. thanks again guys!

First step is a trip to the local auto parts house to get your alternator/battery checked out. It is free at most of the big auto parts chain stores. Once they have passed inspection, start looking for other problems.

:rlaugh: JR-Fixxer might be slightly more appropriate. :) JR-Guru is more like it. :nice:

In addition to JR-Guru's thoughts:

A lot of cars with smaller engines have IAC compensation for the BOO. We don't. But an idle on the verge of having issues, or excessive load can send the idle over the edge.

I'd want to inspect the wiring at the taillights to try and find crossed circuits. It's illegal and just unsafe to drive with directly-visible white light to the rear.

Good luck.
