Electrical Question

- Doing a ground up restore
- Did a decent job of labeling and taking pictures beforehand
- Installed a PA Performance Alternator, Mark VIII fan, and Delta Control Controller.
- Putting the car back together now

As I'm wiring up the starter solenoid, I've made an observation that I'd like help in understanding.

Using a continuity tester...

I'm wiring up the pre-existing wires, I'm finding that the wires going to the key-on/hot post of the solenoid have no continuity to the ground/chassis.

As I include alternator, starter, and DC Controller, I'm showing some continuity exists.

Does this mean there is a problem ?

If yes, how would you suggest I diagnose root cause ?

If not, a brief description of my findings would be appreciated.

TIA.

Some of the items attached to the starter solenoid battery side post are switched loads. They only show continuity to ground whne the ignition switch is in the Run position or the relay contacts for the ECC & fuel pump are closed.
