Hi,
I am having an issue with my '95 GT (details in siggy). My drivers seat does not work anymore and my tail light do not light up when I press the brake pedal. The parking lights in the rear work and the blinkers too but when I press the pedal nothing. Now immediatly you would think the brake switch (do not know the tech. name) was bad but the weird thing is the wing (cobra with led third brake light) still lights up when the pedal is pressed. I went to under the hood to check the fuses about the seat and the 30 amp fuse found here in the following picture (the green one on the bottom row sorry for a blurry picture) was blown:

I looked in the cover for what the desc. was for the fuse and it said "see owners manual" and unfortunatly I do not have one so could someone look it up for me please. I think it's the culprit for the seats seeing as they would need a fairly big fuse due to the higher voltage running through them so i got a 30 amp fuse and replaced it and right as I stuck it in it popped so something is shorting it out. Could the tail lights and the seats be tied together somehow? Anyone have insight that could help me out or possibly even experienced the same problem that has fixed it. I am currently right now trying t find the shorting issue and am getting ready to go out with a volt meter to test everything to see if I can find it. Thanks for the help everyone!

Well .... test everything related .... that's the best I can tell you. As far as the new fuse popping .... try taking the main negative battery terminal off, then put a new 30A fuse in there, then put the negative terminal back on. If it pops then, you have a gremlin somewhere.

Thanks for the input! I will try disconnecting the terminal and reconnecting to see if that cures the "short". I was going to test the wires in the back to see if they are even getting power.

The main thing that is really puzzling me is the l.e.d. on the wing is spliced into the main harness going to the tails and the L.E.D. lights up when the pedal is pressed but yet the main tail lights do not. Makes me thing something is wired improperly.

I don't know. I am going to take a good look at it tomorrow evening and get to the bottom of it.

That green 30 amp is for the seats / cigarette lighter. If your seats arent working, I bet the cig lighter isnt either.

As far as the tail lights, check the bulbs. You may have some filaments out.

Those are on different circuits.

I would make sure change did not fall into the cig lighter receptacle.

yup forgot to mention the lighter isn't working either. There isn't any change or really any debris as far as see. I could tell but I didn't really look the car over very well last night because I was really tired.

I am hoping it was just a big coincidence that both bulbs had the filiments burn but I highly doubt it. I am going to say it's wired wrong. I am going to pull the old multimeter out tonight and start testing wires to see what I can find.
Also, try to sort the seat issue as well. I thought that the 30 amp fuse was for the seats because usually power seats require a big fuse due to the motors and such and I was correct. Hopefully, thats nothing big either.

Thanks guys for all of the help I really appreciate it!
